Thomas Siebren Dijkstra
About
I am Thomas (T.D.) Siebren Dijkstra, founder of Noard Music, and a composer, conductor, and musician based in Rotterdam. I studied Jazz Composition at Codarts, the Conservatory of Rotterdam, after completing my education at the Codarts Lyceum for Music and Dance. From an early age, I have been driven by a deep love for music, collaboration, and clear communication, which naturally led me to work with big bands and orchestras as a conductor, combining musical direction with careful planning and organization. Alongside conducting, I work as a composer and arranger for orchestral, film, and commissioned projects. Over the years, my work has been recognized through several awards, including prizes for orchestral arrangement, film music, and classical composition. I value discipline, curiosity, and professionalism, and I aim to approach every project with respect for the music and the people involved, always focused on learning, growth, and creating something meaningful together.

My Work
Longing For Solitude - performed by Lluïsa Paredes
Longing for Solitude, performed by Lluïsa Paredes, is a contemporary composition for solo cello. In this work, the cello is approached as a versatile and deeply expressive instrument, employing extended and sometimes experimental techniques. Double stops, microtonal intervals such as half-sharps and half-flats, and a wide spectrum of timbral colors are used to explore the instrument’s sonic boundaries and create an intense, intimate atmosphere. The composition reflects on the experience of solitude—not solely as something heavy, but as a space for reflection, depth, and personal resonance. The result is a sound world that invites stillness and attentive listening.
Elysian Ascendancy Triumph of the Virtuous (WORK IN PROGRESS)
Elysian Symphony is a symphonic work in progress in which I explore the connection between classical orchestral tradition and the emotional immediacy of film and modern media. Inspired by the mythological Elysium — the place where heroes found eternal rest — the symphony reflects on what human connection means in a time when a sense of togetherness seems increasingly fragile. Structured in four movements, the work traces a musical journey from struggle and arrival to memory, dream and reconciliation. Through powerful rhythms, lyrical themes and a rich orchestral palette, I aim to create a contemporary symphonic experience. The project is conceived as a multidisciplinary artistic environment where music, light, visual imagery and young creators come together.
